Cam-Tu Nguyen

Cam-Tu Nguyen obtained her bachelor's degree and master's degree from Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2005 and 2008, respectively. In 2011, She received her Ph.D degree in information science from Tohoku University, Japan. From 2012 to 2015, She joined LAMDA group, Nanjing University as a postdoctoral researcher. At the same time, from 2005 to 2017, she was also a lecturer at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. From 2017 until 2019, She worked as an assistant researcher at the Software school at Nanjing University. Since 2019, she is an associate professor, leading a Conversational AI group at the AI school, Nanjing University.

[1] Information Retrieval and Retrieval Augmented Generation.
[2] Training and Inference Efficiency of large AI systems (e.g. LLMs), including methods for improving efficiency during deployment (e.g. KV Cache management, Speculative Decoding, System design such as vLLM).
[3] (Particularly suitable for PhD candidates) AI for Scientific Discovery, with a focus on Computer Science and AI. Topics include AI-driven algorithm and system discovery, such as AlphaDev (Google), which discovered faster sorting algorithms in 2023. A strong background in programming (C/C++/Python), computer systems, and networking is required.
